Archaeological Services

As longstanding site investigation specialists, our company recognises the synergy between archaeological investigations and ground investigations, and we employ a team of archaeologists trained in geotechnical and geo-environmental site work whose primary objective is to utilise this link and provide our clients with a coherent one-stop approach within the planning process.

Our archaeological services, either independent or coupled with geo-environmental and Geotechnical aspects, include the following:

  • Desk-based assessments
  • Field surveys (in association with geophysicists and building surveyors)
  • Photographic surveys
  • Trial trenching, evaluations and excavations
  • Watching briefs
  • Forensic investigations
Our services are in line with Planning Policy Guidelines 15 and 16 and the standards of the Institute of Field Achaeologists.

We comply with the Institution of Civil Engineers' 'ICE Conditions of Contract for Archaeological Investigation', and are members of the Association of Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Specialists (AGS) who embrace archaeological practitioners and investigations.

Drawing on our understanding of the construction industry, we offer advice to clarify all processes and stages involved in site investigation to provide a faster and more cost-effective route towards project design and planning approval.
